A Game of two Halves!

Boardsmill started well in this parish clash on a wet St. Patrick's morning at home to Kilyon. Thomas Reilly got the 'Mill boys on the scoreboard first with a well taken point after two minutes and Kilyon followed up with a point after six minutes. Midfielder Ray Hatton broke through the Kilyon defences with a shot at goal which was saved, however Thomas Leonard was in the right place at the right time and converted the goal. Leonard hit the back of the net again after fifteen minutes having received a pass from James Pratt, he was still left with a lot to do to beat the full back and goalie but duly converted. Reilly and Fergal Flattery kept the sore board ticking over with three more points with the latter converting a brace. Kilyon got a goal and two points leaving the score going into the break Boardsmill 2-04 Kilyon 1-03. The 'Mill lads started well again in the opening minutes of the first half with four unanswered points, however Kilyon got on top at this point and scored 2-06 to Boardsmill's 0-05 in the second half. Even though Boardsmill held a lot of the possession in the first half they should have capitalised further on this having a lot of misplaced shots at the target which proved to be their downfall.
